City management requires knowledge and experience, which are reflected in the decisions responsible actors take within the planning process. Knowledge and experience are developed in time, but city life needs right decisions every day.

To help those who play a role in city development, a network of cities – European Urban Knowledge Network – decided to support the exchange of ideas, experiences and knowledge regarding urban problems, tackling issues of environment, urban economy, urban violence, crime prevention, social inclusion, housing, urban rehabilitation, public transport, education, training, etc.
