Convergence, Regional Competitiveness, European Territorial Cooperation

During 10-14 April 2006, IHS Romania srl implemented, in partnership with the Regional Training Center for Public Administration Craiova, a training program on "Regional Planning and EU Structural Funds”. In this way, IHS Romania srl goes on with the series of training programs for public administration in a high interest field for designing development strategies in coordination with the European Union objectives and priorities.

The course targets decision makers and professionals acting at the county and the city levels, with responsibilities in regional and investment planning. Its objective is to offer information regarding (1) European Union Cohesion Policy during 2007-2013, (2) The Structural Funds Instruments and Objectives, and (3) Regional Operational Program, Sectorial Operational Programs, and the Romanian Management Authorities.

In addition, the program introduces the coordination between elements of urban and county development planning, and medium/long term development strategies, where identification of eligible programs, on financing categories, is an important component. The interactive working methods, used during the course, facilitate the formulation of local development directions based on financial out-sources.
